WE Schools is recognized for the impact it has on students’ sense of themselves and their connection to the world. Our goal is to equip a new generation of young people with the vision, knowledge, skills, self-confidence and passion to tackle society’s most pressing issues locally and globally, from bullying and homelessness to poverty and the environment. Our studies show that whether students are fundraising to build a clean water system in a developing community, launching a creek clean up in their neighborhood or organizing a bullying prevention campaign, they not only discover their power to make a difference, but also develop a commitment to volunteer, vote and give—for years to come.
We believe in measuring the impact of our programs to ensure we’re delivering world-class resources. To that end, we work with leading social impact consultants Mission Measurement to study, learn and improve how the WE Schools program can help educators empower the next generation of compassionate leaders. Thanks to our dedicated educational partners, we’re able to see incredible, transformative outcomes in students across North America and the UK.
During the 2017–2018 school year, campaigns run by youth involved in the WE School program in North America and the UK resulted in:
Million raised for social causes
Million pounds ($15.5 M in value) of food collected for local causes
Million hours volunteered for local and global causes
*Social value = total money raised for local and global causes + value of food collected + the value of hours volunteered at a standard value rate.
