Through their support, WE Schools service opportunities are provided free to 7,000 Canadian schools, and over 1.5 million young people earned their free ticket to WE Day by logging over 70 million hours of service for 3000+ causes.
On July 15, 2020 WE Charity announced that it would shift WE Schools to a digital delivery in Canada and pause WE Day celebrations of youth service globally. Parallel to our public statement, between July 10th and July 17th, WE Charity reached out to our Canadian corporate partners of WE Schools and WE Day to proactively pause our related partnerships.
Our corporate partners’ 25+ year commitment helping youth serve Canada should be celebrated, rather than expose them to undue criticism.
WE seeks to preserve the social impact we have made, together with our partners, well into the future.
We are grateful for our partners support as we move to a sustainable online delivery model for WE Schools in Canada.
