Diane Guerrero on immigration reform

BY ZOE DEMARCO

Diane Guerrero backstage at WE Day Seattle

When Diane Guerrero was in high school, she came home one afternoon to find her worst fear had come true: her parents and older brother had been deported from their Boston home, back to their native Colombia. The 14-year-old was left to fend for herself until a friend’s parents took her in. Today, the Jane the Virgin and Orange is the New Black actor is an outspoken advocate for immigration reform and immigrant rights. Backstage at WE Day Seattle, she shares her experiences and offers advice for youth who feel they are being silenced.
