Fred and Theresa Kielburger are private citizens who have been among WE Charity’s most vital supporters since it was founded in 1995. They have donated their time and property to the charitable organization during that period and have never received any financial benefit of any sort. For example, they generously provided WE Charity with rent-free use of properties in Cabbagetown (233 and 231 Carlton) for over a decade, making an estimated in-kind donation of $5.3 M (a figure verified by independent analysis conducted by Sotheby’s Realty. Each year they declined to take a tax receipt for these contributions as they were legally entitled, to avoid even the slightest implication of personal gain.
