Over the past 25 years, three distinct and legally independent charitable organizations have been instituted, serving unique and differing purposes. WE Charity delivers impactful domestic education and youth engagement programs, and international programs that strike at the root causes of poverty around the world. The ME to We Foundation provides scholarships for international learning, and supports the funding of global international development. The WE Well-being Foundation was established specifically to address youth mental health with programs and resources. It is again a stand-alone foundation, as per the wishes of the founding partner.
All three of these organizations are separate legally registered non-profits. They are all subject to annual independent financial audit, and we are pleased that all continue to receive excellent unqualified audit reports. In keeping with our commitment to openness and transparency, the annual reports and audited financial statements for WE Charity, the ME to WE Foundation, and the WE Well-being Foundation, are available below.
WE Charity’s financial budget and audited reports operate from consolidated financial data from WE Charity Canada and WE Charity USA. WE Charity prides itself on keeping its fundraising and administrative rate as low as possible. For more information on how this is done, please visit Financial FAQs.

WE Charity is governed by an independent Board of Directors (read more here). Similar to other complex organizations, WE Charity has specific corporate authority over related incorporated entities.
WE Charity is the main operating charity, with smaller affiliated charities (WE Charity Foundation, Well-being Foundation, ME to WE Foundation of Canada). These affiliated charities were created through various reasons including the wishes of a founding donor and at the advice of legal counsel. From a legal standpoint, WE Charity is the founding or sole member of these charities. This gives WE Charity specific legal rights over all of the above entities, which enables the Board of WE Charity to maintain oversight. As sole or founding member of these charities, WE Charity has governance rights including, but not limited to, the right to approve any changes to the governing documents of these charities, to elect directors to their Boards, and to receive financial disclosure from each of these organizations.
As we work with educators, youth, and partners, the message they consistently deliver is that mental health and well-being are among the most critical issues they want and need WE to support them in addressing. Through many conversations, we realized that what was needed was more than a simple program or narrowly-focused initiative. What was needed was more ambitious - the WE Well-being Foundation. Although incubated within WE Charity, per the wishes of the founding partner, the We Well-being Foundation was established as a stand-alone charitable foundation, with the intention that it will grow to become its own entity. Read more about the WE Well-being initiative here.
In the spirit of openness and transparency, we are pleased to present the first annual report and audited financial statement for the WE Well-being Foundation.

The ME to WE Foundation is a legally separate and distinct charitable foundation whose purpose is three-fold. Firstly, the Foundation provides scholarships, primarily for youth, to engage in international learning experiences. The ME to WE Foundation also supports select international development projects around the world. Lastly, the mission of the ME to WE Foundation is to improve the efficiency of other non-profit organizations by helping them with planning, structuring and improving their programs. The ME to WE Foundation is to be a partner, alongside WE Charity, to create the “WE Social Enterprise Center”.
In keeping with our commitment to openness and transparency, the ME to WE Foundation makes publicly available its annual audited financial statements. You can download them from the link below.
